In France
2005 - Performance
To compete in the Grand Illusion final performance
event, I developed a piece about France. The piece explores the theme
of travel an aimed to improve the French-American relations.
n the opening number, I tell the history of France with things in my pocket and
my croissant camera (a small camera inside of a croissant.) Next, my dancers
join me and together we figure out how to get to France, while exploring French
culture. In the last number, I am taller and I sing my song In
France. The piece was first done at Grand Illusion, in Cleveland, OH
and was expanded into a longer piece that was performed at the Mattress Factory
in PIttsburg, PA. Get to know the French.
